The Pfizer Covid vaccine was approved for use in the UK last year, with millions already showing up to receive their first dose. But if you don’t want to wait your turn to get a coronavirus vaccine, can you skip the line by paying for the vaccine privately?
The UK became the first country in the world to approve the safety of Pfizer / BioNTech.
This means the UK government could distribute the vaccine to the public.
The first doses have already been given to a number of eligible patients, with plans to expand the rollout over the next few months.
A priority list was established by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization (JCVI), with people living in nursing homes being the first to receive the vaccine. Anyone over the age of 50 is now eligible for a Covid vaccine.

Can you pay for the Covid vaccine to skip the line?
As it stands, the vaccine will only be available in the UK as part of the NHS rollout.
This means that you will not be able to pay for the Pfizer vaccine privately, if you prefer to get the vaccine as early as possible.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer Professor Jonathan Van-Tam has previously revealed that he is not aware of any plans for the vaccine to be available privately.
He insisted that while it is ultimately a decision by government ministers, he believes vaccines should be prioritized by those who need them most, as opposed to wealth.
